Overview

Andanza—Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel, is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of San Miguel de Allende’s Zona Centro. This elegant restaurant seamlessly blends Mexican tradition with subtle French influences, offering a refined yet warm dining experience that complements the historic charm of the hotel itself.

Located at Hospicio 35, the setting is both intimate and inviting, featuring a beautifully designed space that feels at once cozy and sophisticated. The courtyard, in particular, provides a tranquil ambiance perfect for morning meditations or relaxed evening meals. Live violin music often enhances the atmosphere, adding an elegant soundtrack to your dining experience.

The menu is a thoughtful showcase of local flavors with a creative twist. Highlights include the French Toast and Breakfast Toast—ideal morning options that balance comfort with culinary finesse—and the Guacamole, which stands out fresh and vibrant. Duck Birria and Duck Tacos offer a deep, savory taste that reinterprets traditional Mexican fare with an upscale flair. For a traditional touch with modern appeal, the Chilaquiles Divorciados and Pan Francés deliver familiar flavors elevated by quality ingredients and expert preparation. The Churros Con Chocolate de Metate serve as an indulgent finish, blending classic sweetness with authentic Mexican character.

Guests appreciate the attentive service, which is friendly and personalized. Staff members quickly learn and accommodate dietary preferences, enhancing the overall sense of care. This attention extends beyond the restaurant to room service and poolside dining, adding convenience for hotel guests who wish to savor their meals in private and picturesque settings.

Andanza also shines as a destination for special occasions. From leisurely Sunday breakfasts accompanied by mimosas to exquisite Valentine’s Day dinners with wine pairings, it offers a sophisticated yet approachable culinary journey. The expertly crafted cocktails further complement the menu, providing vibrant and refreshing options that resonate with international and local palates alike.

While the open doors offer fresh air and a connection to the vibrant street life, occasional city sounds can briefly surface. Nonetheless, this minor detail does little to detract from the restaurant’s overall charm and appeal.

Andanza invites discerning travelers and food lovers alike to experience an exceptional fusion of classic Mexican flavors, elegant presentation, and heartfelt hospitality—all within one of San Miguel de Allende’s most exquisite settings.

We had breakfast and lunch here while staying at the hotel. The restaurant is beautiful and has live music at certain times. Our favorite dishes were the gluten-free apple bread (the butter and fruit jams that accompanied it were splendid) , guacamole, and arrachera tacos (the green habanero sauce is amazing ). The cocktails were also delicious. Perks of staying at the hotel: enjoy the dishes in your room or by the pool The service of the staff was really friendly and attentive. They remembered our dietary restrictions and preferences when we went back the second day The only small “downside” is that because the building doors were open, you could occasionally smell the car exhaust coming from the streets (when traffic is busy).

Andanza restaurant is located inside Casa Sierra Nevada (a Belmont Hotel) main building. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is excellent and the cuisine is Mexican inspired with a few twists. I’d totally recommend dropping by for Sunday’s breakfast with a good mimosa!

Absolutely beautiful! Cozy, elegant, and well-designed space with a meditative atmosphere especially in the morning. The bread trolley and basket was such a delight! Loved the banoffee pancake which wasn’t too sweet and just right. Above all, service was outstanding. We had to give 20% tip, well-deserved. Alvaro and Maciel were attentive and accommodated even the tiniest requests. So glad to spend time here in beautiful San Miguel de Allende!

Excellent food and service. Ambience in courtyard is amazing. Staff and food is top notch. We had the valentines special dinner here with wine pairing, was absolutely amazing. With wine paring about US&150 pp and worth every penny. The beef short ribs and scallops were out of this world and the vanilla mousse was so light and scrumptious.

We had Brunch and ordered eggs and French toast, it's not a traditional French toast but all the food was great. The restaurant is beautiful with a great ambiance, we were lucky to enjoy some life violin music. The service was outstanding as well.

This is a great breakfast spot. There are a variety of contemporary Mexican dishes and our group had nothing but good things to say about their meals. I had the burrito which was exactly what I was looking for and beautifully plated with decorative flowers. The green juice and the berry/ginger juice was refreshing, I would recommend either. Overall this was a great spot!

What a fantastic lunch experience. Although my first impression of their lunch menu was that it was limited in choice later realised that the few items on the menu were done to perfection. I opted for the quesibirrias de pato which were fantastic! I would highly recommend this dish (it is also the chefs top choice as stated in the menu). My travel partner chose the tomato soup. At first I was hesitant of the choice as I thought it as not an adventurous choice I was proves wrong. This was also an exquisite dish. To top it all off we had the tres leches cake for dessert which was just fantastic not only in presentation but also in taste. I would definitely return here for lunch and would be interested to try their dinners.
